In December 2024, at KSERC, I focused on several key tasks related to the state’s energy regulation and sustainability efforts. I began by studying the current status of rooftop solar installations in India, analyzing their annual growth and trends. Then worked on creating a PowerPoint presentation analyzing the payback period for solar energy systems, focusing on their financial viability for residential, commercial, and industrial consumers. The presentation included case studies and data on installation costs and government subsidies. Also conducted a comparative study of peak demand months in Kerala versus other states like Tamil Nadu, Maharashtra, and Gujarat, examining regional variations in demand patterns .Additionally, I drafted notes for the Compliance Cell, addressing complaints from consumers regarding power distribution issues . Throughout the month, I attended public hearings and a meeting with CGRF officers, gaining insights into ongoing consumer-related issues and regulatory matters. I also had the opportunity to visit the Thenmala Power Station as part of an industrial visit, gaining a firsthand understanding of the station’s operations.
